Later, an advertiser modified this quote and said, &#8220;You can fool all the people all the time provided you do enough advertising.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are surrounded by advertisements and it is no rocket science to understand that our choices are directly or indirectly influenced by some advertisements we watch on the TV or Billboard. So, a question may arise: are advertisements a bad influence? The answer depends upon how much authenticity and research has gone into the advertising campaign. In this article, we will take a look at some ads that are not genuine and create controversy every now and then.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Cold drinks:<\/strong>If you give a quick search on the internet you will come across many studies that prove how cold drinks are injurious to our health. Manufacturers, however, leave no stones unturned to promote their brand to us without mentioning how it will deteriorate our health in the long run. Celebrities are hired for ad campaigns that end up influencing many influential minds.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Cosmetics: <\/strong>This industry is a cash cow and not to mention there are many cosmetic industries with millions of turnovers. To promote the brand, however, the manufacture of these cosmetic products sells us as a false notion that our skin color needs to be enhanced in order to look beautiful. Such an attitude also leads to discrimination against people who don&#8217;t have a fair skin tone.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Political advertisement: <\/strong>When politics meet advertisements, it becomes propaganda. It is no secret that millions are spent during elections. With the power of advertising, a particular political party sells false hope and promise.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The above-mentioned types of advertisement are a few of many examples when advertising is used in the wrong way. However, this doesn&#8217;t mean that every type of advertisement is a fraud. Many social awareness campaigns are done through advertisements.
