With the world facing a terrible pandemic, it has completely changed the previous status quo. The COVID-19 crisis has affected everyone in one way or another, be it big or small!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the Flu Pandemic of 1918, due to the lack of ready communication, people in authority had to be physically present to spread awareness. Social media in a situation like this has been an amazing way for people and communities to stay connected even while being physically separated and safe in their own space. With the progress in Social media, we are getting updates the fastest we ever have and in a crisis situation like this, it\u2019s a must to be aware as soon as possible to avoid any careless mishaps. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Platforms like Facebook and Twitter not only provide personal and business updates, it also has helped us express ourselves during the pandemic where not only people have been suffering physically but the situation has also taken a severe mental toll on them.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For some businesses, social media has played a pivotal role in maintaining a strong and loyal consumer base even during these times. It has served as an exemplary platform for socially responsible product marketing to brands. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Government has been using it effectively to give timely updates and share factual information. It has become a powerful tool to bring positivity into the society at dire times like these with online charity events and fundraiser for humane causes and people suffering badly due to the pandemic, and not only monetarily but it has also been a vehicle for positive thoughts and practices especially with many influential and loved idols of the society showing through social media, their ways of coping with being cooped up and encouraging people to stay safe and indoors for everyone\u2019s sake. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

While people have also misused the platform that social media has provided them with by spreading false information and rumors without verifying it, many social media platforms have taken steps to combat it and linked government approved information to any post about COVID 19 to curb the spread of rumors.
