Some time ago, the entire world was divided on something nobody could have ever imagined. Ketchup! Yes, the entire world was debating about ketchup. Nobody would have ever imagined ketchup being discussed on social media as well as on news channels. While a part of the world laughed and brushed off this debate, the others were seriously involved. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The question in debate was, \u201cwhether you place your ketchup in the fridge or the pantry\u201d. This had the internet divided. Some said that they placed their ketchup in the fridge, while others rooted for the pantry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
A Twitter user tweeted saying, \u201cIf you keep ketchup in the pantry, you\u2019re an animal and there\u2019s no room for you in a civilized society.\u201d Supporters of keeping the ketchup in the pantry reasoned that the ketchup at the restaurant is kept outside and we still use it. Pro fridge supporters debated saying the usage of ketchup in restaurants is fast so they can afford to keep it outside or at room temperature. Another user tweeted saying, \u201cI could never date someone that keeps their ketchup in the cupboard and not in the fridge.\u201d Talk show hosts also raised this question to celebrities and their opinions were divided too! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Heinz, the ketchup manufacturing giant, released an official statement saying, \u201cBecause of its natural acidity, Heinz ketchup is shelf-stable. However, its stability after opening can be affected by storage conditions. We recommend that this product, like any processed food, be refrigerated after opening. Refrigeration will maintain the best product quality after opening.\u201d They played smart and didn\u2019t really pick one side. Their point was put across and neither of the sides was hurt. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
All the debates aside, everything boils down to one\u2019s personal taste. If you like your ketchup cold, keep it in the fridge. If you like it at room temperature, store it in the pantry!
