Advertising that Appeals

We see so many advertisements daily and so many of similar products, do we end up buying every product that is advertised out there. Certainly not! We only buy products that sound convincing to us and that we truly trust will benefit us, all this based off a certain 30 second advertisement that we see. What does this short advertisement project that we become ready to invest the product and the brand? How does the brand make the advertisement so convincing that we end up trusting them blindly?

First off it is very important to conduct and construct the advertisement according to the target audience. Understand what the product is whom do you want to cater it to, that becomes your target audience. For example, if the product is baby powder, you target audience will be the parents, primarily the mothers. Build the storyline of the advertisements around the audience and it will attract them instantly.

Make your advertisement worth remembering by adding jingles and taglines that audience can instantly pick up. Advertisements like “Nirma” and “MDH Masala” have jingles that are so peppy and addictive that it got so popular and everyone started to sing it out loud too. The audience knows their product because of the jingles. Similarly, “Have a Break-Have a Kit-Kat” and “Cadbury-Kuch Meetha Ho Jaye” gained a lot of attention because of their quirky taglines. These little things make a lot of difference and will appeal to the audience a lot quicker.

Call to Action is also something that works in the favor of the brands. Sentences like “Limited offer” or “Valid on till.” creates an emergency in people’s minds and will appeal to the audience. You will often notice brands with advertisements saying “1+1 offer will only be valid till 31st of the month”. This makes a lot of difference and lead the audience to feel that the offer is great and they need to use this as an opportunity to buy the product.

Lastly, a brand ambassador is someone that can completely change the advertising game in the brand’s favor. A beloved celebrity is enough to attract maximum attention of the audience to the brand. A lot of times, just a popular face saying something nice about the brand will make people trust in it completely. Such is the impact. For example, Flipkart was not as trusted of a website, but after Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt started advertising it, the way the website was looked at changes completely. Now Flipkart is getting way more popular and people have started using it more and more. The brand just needed these 2 faces to make the advertisement sound convincing.

These points may sound very basic but they work wonders for the brand. It is fairly easy for a brand and its advertisement to sound convincing but it is hard for it to be maintained. At the end, it all boils down to the product and the service that the brands provide.
