Beautiful ads that made an impact

  1. Nike- If You Let Me Play
This film is a small masterpiece that addresses a major problem in a very elegant way, with bravado and irony. The film has also been referenced in other works, and even recreated recently. But this is the real thing that paved the way for many debates about women and sports. The manner in which sports brands address women in their ads has also changed.
  2. Thai Health- Anti-smoking
The best thing about this campaign is that there’s no way you can argue with its message and how it’s delivered. Its rationale is brilliant (it seems as though you could extend it to other social problems as well) and the implementation is spot-on. This campaign was very powerful in Thailand, but it could function easily around the world.
  3. Benetton- Hearts
One of the most effective advertisements ever made on racism. It’s extremely basic, almost clichéd, but it has a great point and is beautifully implemented. It’s a very iconic image that has been used over and over the years and still lives on as an Internet meme.
  4. Honda- Grr
The interesting thing about this film, apart from being amazing, is that it has managed to talk about one of the most critical issues of our time in a nice and comedic way. It made people happy and think about their effect on the world. This campaign paved the way for other car companies to place eco-consciousness at the core of their communication and vision.
  5. Channel 4- Meet the Superhumans
Changing the general public’s view of the Paralympic Games was not an easy job. This excellent piece of work has managed or has at least begun to do so since 2012, in London. This is a strong film that questions our preconceptions.
