Best Mac ‘N’ Cheese Recipes For The Perfect Comfort Food!

My mouth is watering before even beginning this blog. This is the classic good old Mac ‘N’ Cheese recipe which will surely be your partner in crime!

This is the richest, creamiest, mac & cheese you’ll ever have and is really easy to make from scratch.

I believe there are two types of people- those who loveeee cheese and those who don’t (what truly horrible lives they must lead)!

If you are a cheese lover this Mac n Cheese is your dream come true!

Let’s begin!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 3/4 cups of elbow macaroni
  • 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter
  • 4 tablespoons of all purpose flour
  • 250 grams of velveeta, cubed
  • 150 grams of freshly grated monterrey jack
  • 150 of freshly grated sharp cheddar
  • 2 1/2 cups of milk
  • Salt as per taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Onion powder to taste

Note: You can use your favorite or preferred cheese replacing the ooones mentioned in the recipe.

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Boil water in a large pot, add some salt and throw in your elbow macaroni. Cook al dente, drain well, and set aside.
  • In another pan add in your butter. Keep the heat to medium. Once the butter has fully melted, add in your flour all at once and whisk for 3-4 minutes, until you’ve cooked all the flour taste out.
  • Slowly, start pouring milk, keep whisking constantly, until thickened to liking. If you like more of a “sauce” then you don’t want the milk mixture too thick.
  • Once thickened, add in your cubed velveeta or any other cheese you prefer. Season with black pepper and onion powder.
  • Depending on what type of cheese you are using, add the salt last.
  • When your velveeta has fully melted, add in your monterrey jack and sharp cheddar cheese. Turn off heat, and whisk until smooth. Taste check for seasoning. Add salt if needed.
  • Add in your drained macaroni, toss to coat, and serve immediately.

Note: You can also add oregano or herbs if you want to add flavor. There is no harm in adding veggies, chicken or prawns as well.

Mac n Cheese is a sure winner. Nothing can ever go wrong with cheese!
