Just like we people have our own separate identities, it is very crucial for a brand also to have an identity that sets it apart from the rest. An identity can make or break a brand. It gives a systematic structure and helps people in easy identification of the brand.

  1. Select a color for your brand: Colors are the first identity of any brand. Your first association with the brand happens by its color. So, it is important to choose a color that resonates with your brand. For instance; when we talk about Facebook, we immediately associate it with the color blue. 
  2. Choose an attractive logo: After the color, what people notice is the entire logo of the brand. A logo should be something that gives away information of your brands just by a small image. Like the Instagram logo is shaped as a camera because it is an app that deals with picture. Twitter has a bird as its logo. 
  3. Set up a brand personality: A brand’s personality is similar to that of us human beings. Our personality is what sets us apart. In the same way a brand’s personality will set it apart. Like Coca-Cola has designed itself to be a very young and peppy brand so a lot of youngsters relate to it.
  4. Brand persona: A persona is a face (person, object, or idea) for your brand that interacts with the people. The persona should have a relatability quotient with your target audiences. It is a voice that you choose as a brand for reaching out to people.
