Social Media Saved Us While Social Distancing

The bad news was social distancing, and the good news was social media.

When the Covid-19 situation forced the whole world to maintain social distance, social media was the only platform that kept us connected. From video calls on WhatsApp to live on Instagram, social media help to maintain our sanity in tough times.

We all know the importance of social distancing and how dangerous coronavirus is, yet sitting in isolation wasn’t easy. We all could do nothing but follow the government rules. At that time, social media came to lighten all our lives like the fairy lightened Cinderella’s life. The content creators on social media entertained us with their amazing content. They made content on lockdown, social distancing, and son on that was highly relatable. The content creators had different ways to enhance our time.

INSTAGRAM LIVE

Instagram influencers worked hard to maintain their relationships with their followers, and I must say they did a pretty good job. They went live more than ever before and kept their followers engaged and more connected to them. The Q and A wasn’t much in use until the lockdown. The influencers and content creators used the Q and A and solved many of the problems of their fans. To use Instagram live, one doesn’t need to have a blue tick next to their name. Common people can also interact with their friends and family via Instagram live and feel connected.

ZOOM CALLS

Initially, people used Zoom calls to bring the business work back on track. Later, it was used for family get together for celebrating virtual birthdays, parties, and many more. Now Zoom calls act as the most significant tool to connect teachers and students. Zoom call and many video calling app saw a hike in downloads during the pandemic. People preferred video calls over phone calls as it is makes people feel more connected and more personal.

CELEBRITIES AND YOU TUBERS

Many celebrities and started to stay in with their fans via Instagram and YouTube. Many celebs who were home and couldn’t work made a point that their fans are connected to them. Many TV shows that couldn’t go to shoot shot from home and uploaded on IGTV or YouTube. Social media tried hard enough to keep us connected when we all were disconnected.

Thanks to all the social media for sparling our lives and making us feel like Diwali during the dullest days. Thanks to all the entertainers for entertaining us when we were tired of playing Ludo and making cakes. Thanks to the entire incredible apps which helped us pass each day with a smile on our faces.
