The best way to have a staycation

Amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, staycations are one of the biggest holiday trends currently. Staycation is a type of vacation spent at one’s home or a day trip to nearby locations. Given the need to maintain social distance, people have been canceling their holiday plans. The pandemic is triggering layoffs and pay cuts because of which employees are also working longer and harder. In this scenario, everyone needs time off to recharge. To have an amazing vacation, you don’t need to spend a lot of money or travel to exotic places. Instead, you can enjoy your time off without spending on expensive airline tickets and hotel stays.

Here’s a list of staycation ideas that will help you experience your best days even if you’re on a tight budget.

  • Don’t use your phone. Avoid checking social media, news alerts, and work updates.
  • Live in your pajamas, robe, yoga pants, or flip flops. (Anything that you feel comfortable in)
  • Rent a car and go for a drive in your city. Take a mini road trip. Look at the places with fresh eyes. There’s much to explore right in your own city.
  • Experience the good outdoors right in your backyard. Pitch a tent! Have a barbecue and tell some horror stories to your kids.
  • Watch a movie or a show! Try watching your favorite classics or TV shows like Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, or The Avengers. Make popcorn and be comfortable in your loungewear.
  • Read a good book. There are so many books collecting dust on your bookshelf. You always want to read one but never get enough time in your hectic schedule. Now’s is the time to indulge in a good read.
  • Use this time to take up a DIY project. You’ll feel amazing after you completed it and will have something to relish the memories of your staycation. You can take a one-day workshop on pottery, painting, or even baking lessons.
  • Try meditating or take a nap! Vacations are all about feeling relaxed and escape from daily life. Catch up on some sound sleep.
  • Spend some quality time with your kids. Get out the Uno cards or a board game. Spend your time playing, talking, and laughing.

You must plan your staycation in advance to get a break from your usual daily routine. Now is the perfect time for you to do all the things that you love!
