What part of social media or social media site is go to for people

What part of social media (or which social media site) is the go-to for people this pandemic?

The global pandemic took a toll on our daily lifestyle and routine. The way we used to think, the way we took our freedom for granted, the way we saw people, everything changed. Being stuck at our respective houses, with all means of transportation and restaurants being closed, all we could do was connect virtually.

Social Media, indeed played a very big part in doing so. We might not have been able to see our friends and family live, but the social media bought us closer. Be it through video calls, texts, looking at their stories and seeing what everyone is up to, etc became a part of our daily lifestyle.

There are a lot of Social Media sites that offered and allowed the people to connect digitally and enjoy those conversations over a cup of tea, but one that was the most successful was Instagram. Instagram is such an escape from our regular lives (during quarantine). It had us all value the things that we used to miss through its “stories feature” where our family and friends use to repost the stories from a year back with them giggling and laughing in a restaurant or them at a thrilling adventure or mere catching up with friends. Basically, all the things that we took for granted.

It also came up with its “Reels” feature that immediately brightened up everyone’s mood as there were so many people coming through with their unique videos and creative content be it cooking, some tutorials, or just some funny vines.

And, of course how can we forget the basic and the most talked about topic this quarantine, “The Memes”. The “Direct Message” or DM feature on Instagram helped everyone have a laugh through sharing messages and memes and just having a light-hearted moment. The “Video Call” feature enabled us to connect with our friends. Even though we couldn’t see them, we did wipe some teras virtually.

Instagram also kept we busy with their “Which Friends character am I? filters that were all the rage. Those silly and goofy selfies kept us quite entertained when we needed a break to breathe and relax from our “work from home” life which we were still getting used to.

It also kept we aware of the current situation in the world and gave us all the information that we needed, be it about movies, politics, sports, art and culture, and the topics are endless.

Overall, pandemic even though tough did end up teaching us a lot of things, one being, Social Media is great, isn’t it? A great way to get to know a lot of things and connect to a lot of people if used wisely and correctly.
