Does ketchup belong in your pantry or refrigerator

Global debates over social media platforms remain nothing new, but some of them manage to go viral and seep into ordinary conversations. One such debate took place in 2017 on the famous social media platform, Twitter. You would expect a debate that had people choosing sides vehemently would be incredibly serious and to the debaters, it genuinely was. The origin of this debate is not fully traceable, but it gained viral fame when the British grocer Asda began storing ketchup inside its refrigerator to appease people who insisted it belongs there. But, when they tweeted a poll to ask customers where they typically keep their ketchup, the internet had divided opinions.

People gave their expert views on which location would be better. While some enjoyed their ketchup gloppy and popping right out when they tilted the bottle because of it being kept at room temperature, others thought it was only natural to preserve their ketchup in the refrigerator for it to stay stable and not go bad like almost all other condiments. People even decided to tweet and hilariously throw shade at others calling them weird if they liked cold ketchup with their hot fries!

Some adopted a neutral stand and chose both! They liked keeping their ketchup in the pantry before opening the seal and then popping it in the refrigerator once opened to prolong the shelf life of the product!
