Extremely funny advertisements that had the audience laughing out loud

Advertisements cannot just persuade people to buy products unless they make a connection or correctly appeal to the target audience and the viewers. This is why advertisements creatively present a product or service that appeals to people’s emotions. Some advertisements are so well presented that people remember them whether they are the target audience or not. While sadness and sentimental advertisements do have a big impact on viewers, it’s the funny ones that often have the best effect on them. 

“Hungry Betty White” was an advertisement by Snickers that launched their “You’re Not You When You’re Hungry” campaign with Betty White during the 2010 Super Bowl. It showed a group of people playing rugby and suddenly one of the players turned into Betty White because the player was hungry! Taking a bite of the snack bar turned the guy back to himself!  The advertisement went viral and topped every best commercial list that year and was followed by a hugely successful campaign that increased sales by millions in only two years. This tagline is still used globally by the brand after over an entire decade due to its massive success.

United Kingdom’s seafood company John West’s advertisement started as a calm, nature documentary-style shot of bears fishing while the narrator described the scene in his best David Attenborough impression. Then things took a hilarious turn when the advertisement showed an employee of the company running up behind the bear to get the salmon the bear had caught. The advertisements show a funny fight scene between the man and the bear for the fish! This won numerous awards and remains one of the funniest commercials. 

Old Spice is known for its hilarious advertisements. While the handsome hunks representing them may change, one thing that stays constant is the hilarious content! Old Spice had an advertisement “The Man Your Man Could Smell Like”, which showed that they were clever enough to realize that the product might be aimed towards men, but it was women who the men were trying to impress. Hence they took a new approach with their next campaign and the new tagline with the handsome actor Isaiah Mustafa’s delivery made the advertisement a massive hit with its humor!
