Good team leaders always take the blame and hand down credit.

What makes a person a worthy leader is not just their ability to order and boss people around. It is all about how they motivate their team and bring out the best in them to reach their set goals efficiently. A team is like any other machinery, for it to be working smoothly, it needs to be well maintained and taken care of. This duty falls upon the leader to make sure the team members coordinate with each other, resolve their internal issues and move forward with the test to achieve the desired results.

Team leaders are not just people who have position and authority, while it is true that they call the shots, they also have to take responsibility for any mishaps that happen. A good leader is the first person to accept their shortcomings and taking the blame for any failure while passing on the compliments and credits to their team. Good leaders, even when they fail, are quick to accept their mistakes, acknowledge the problem and learn from it. They do not consider a failure to be wasted effort but just another way to not do things in the future. This not only teaches them the best ways to achieve something but it also shows their humility. Any good leader should inspire the people under them to work harder, and go the extra mile to produce not just good results but excellent results.

Failures especially in teams can be due to bad leadership and guidance, misplacing this blame onto the people lower in hierarchy can mess up the team’s status quo and also be extremely discouraging which will again by default only lead to more such failures in the future.
