Is YouTube a good career move for you in 2021

There are thousands of digital tutorials, books and articles available on how to become a successful YouTuber and make an earning from it. When the social media platform started in 2005, nobody could guess that one day people would be able to make a living by creating content on it. Everyone thought that it would be the platform for artists to upload their work and get even more rich through it. Soon enough though people realized how they could create a following on it through their content from which they could also make money. Big YouTube influencers stated leaving their jobs to pursue a career on YouTube full-time. This inspired a lot of people who were passionate about creating video content, editing, music, gaming, etc., to find an alternative to the mundane jobs.

The idea of making content, putting it up on the internet and making money from it sounds great compared to having a nine to five desk job with mediocre pay. However, what people fail to consider is that millions of people are trying to make it big on YouTube and especially now, when the competition is insane! The social media platforms have all become interconnected with famous Instagram stars, TikTok stars, gaming community stars from Twitch starting their YouTube channels, it has definitely become harder to make it big on YouTube than it was earlier.

However, one thing that stands true even now is, it completely depends on an individual, their interests and their skills to decide if becoming a YouTuber at this time is a smart option especially if someone is thinking of quitting their full-time job and start YouTube as one instead. If someone is confident that they can garner the fan following needed to make money on YouTube, if they can work consistently to provide good content over long periods of time while adjusting to new trends and if they are confident enough to put themselves out there for the world to see without being phased by failures, keyboard warriors and trolls on the internet, then they should follow their dreams to be the next big thing on YouTube.
