How much transparency should a company have in its business

Every company and business are different. Their policies, their interaction with employees, their working ethics, everything varies. But one thing that is commonly believed which should be followed is transparency. Employees need to know how everything is functioning and what is happening in the ongoing business, but do they actually know everything? Do all the employees of the company have a clear understanding of the work? Do they know about the challenges or are they just aware about their part?

It is not about the size of the company, the company may be giant, mid-scale or new, it is a fact that complete transparency is not maintained and rightly so because a certain limit is also important. Transparency has become quite a popular concept in these recent years as many people working in the corporate sector have had a clear ide about this. Maintaining a certain level of transparency is important as it creates a level of understanding and mutual trust that is beneficial for the productivity at work. Similarly, drawing a certain line at a certain point is equally important as well.

Transparency in any company or business is great up till a certain point because sometimes it better to keep your cards close to your chest for the betterment of the work. A lot of times what happens is an employee gets to know too much about the insides that could prove to regretful in the future.

A lot of it also depends on the mutual trust and relationship between the employee and the head and also the time frame. A new employee with not have as much transparency and as much information shared as compared to the older ones. Its natural and organic. The way you build the trust and respect will affect your work a lot.

As mentioned above, yes transparency is important but a lot of things depend on other factors as well. We wouldn’t share everything with everyone. There are a selected set of people in the company that know in and out and that make use of all the information in the correct manner and it should also be kept that way.
