Let’s understand the time where the world gravitated towards K-Pop or their music. We surely love “Dynamite” as well as “Lovesick Girls”, but are these the first K-Pop songs that we heard and loved? The answer is certainly no. We do have our favorite set of K-Pop songs and music videos but recollect the time when we observed and started taking an interest in the K-Pop industry. The answer is “Gangnam Style” by PSY, which changed the way people looked at K-Pop.

We all remember the time we heard the song, and it surely struck us how music can blur boundaries and can make us fall in love with it. The Gangnam style became viral overnight, and it was being played everywhere. Be it the catchy music, the quirky lyrics, or the incredible dance, it all became the town of the town. PSY outdid himself and ended up creating a masterpiece. K-Pop started getting a lot of attention that it deserved after this song became an instant hit.

PSY’s song surely bought a lot of attention to Korean music as well as Korean culture. This song left an impression and ensured international success. PSY was just an introduction to us, as it brought us to a piece of different music that we weren’t used to listening to. Be it the funky hair colors, the adorable fashion, or the “Korean skincare routine” (that has become popular nowadays), we got to know about this thanks to PSY.

K-Pop paved their way to experiencing the international success that they deserved. Of course, a lot of K-Pop idols put their hard work into being recognized, but PSY became a medium through which people got fascinated by this music.
