Reel and Real

It is easy for us to misinterpret films for reality. We fall in love with the actors imagining that they are just the same in real life. We fail to realize that they are acting on-screen and they are different in real life, as they are just portraying a character on screen. Cinema has always had a very strong influence on us. We have tried to act like them and even got inspired by their styling. We sometimes cannot differentiate between the reel and the real. But some actors seem to make us believe that they are just the characters they play on-screen, as they behave very similarly. Let’s have a look at some of the actors who play themselves on screen.

Varun Dhawan: There is no way we wouldn’t have included Varun Dhawan’s name in this list. He is an extremely talented actor with amazing dance skills and surely reminds us of a younger Govinda. He seems to be an exact copy of the characters he plays on the screen. He often plays characters that are entertaining, dramatic, over the top, and loud, as we have witnessed in Judwa 2, Humpty Sharma ki Dulhania, and now Coolie no 1. He is just like that in reality as we see him being the energetic one in the room full of people. He is always fun in interviews and believes in having a good time, just like his reel personality.

Ayushmann Khurrana: This incredible actor is surely changing the way Bollywood looks at films. His films are always light-hearted yet fun, just like how Amol Palekar’s films were. His characters in films are always sensible, calm, and humorous, which is how we Ayushmann to be in real-life. He often portrays boy-next-door characters that are simple and urban. He is extremely calm and sensible, always carrying his gorgeous dimpled smile. It is hard to believe whether he is acting or not.

Alia Bhatt: Bollywood’s cutie pie, Alia Bhatt is a tremendous actor. She has portrayed a variety of roles and always seems to be experimenting with films. Even though she has showcased her acting talents by choosing films like Highway and Raazi, she likes to stick to playing bubbly and chirpy characters. We have seen her in Kapoor and Sons, Shaandar, and 2 States where she has played very similar characters. She is just like that in real life. She is full of life, always happy, outgoing, and it seems like her personality is very well translated on the screen.

Vidya Balan: Vidya Balan is a stunner, in a literal sense. Her choices in films have been nothing short of incredible. She always picks scripts that are different and unique. But one thing that remains constant is her strength. She always chooses characters that are strong and independent, be it in “Kahani” or “Paa”. Her choices are superior and that is how she is in reality. She is a very strong lady who has made a name for herself in the industry with sheer hard work and talent, which is extremely inspiring.
