The importance of brands being able to react in real time for any

Get-set Viral!

Being up-to-date with the current happenings has become very important in today’s times. People have ditched the traditional newspapers and gone digital for their daily dose of news. All people do is open their phone, browse through a few social media apps and you know what is happening in which part of the world.

Today, every brand has its presence on social media. And these brands have made most of it by reacting to different situations in quick time. Something happens somewhere in the world, and the next thing you see is brands uploading that news within minutes. You do not even need to read the news and you will know what has happened.

If a video has gone viral, every brand will be posting the same but with a touch of their own. This helps the brands in promoting themselves and improving engagement of people towards the brand. A classic example of this is Amul; they have been releasing posters of current happenings in the world with their signature ‘Amul baby’ on it. This gives audiences the news as well as promotes Amul as a brand.

This has also become a new form of marketing for brands. But they also have to be quick with these kinds of promotions. Because, the news is already stale if you post it after two days. Reacting to every situation quickly is as important as promotional offers for the brands.

For instance; ‘Main Tera’ edits from the film Kalank went viral on Instagram lately. Brands wasted no time and hopped onto the bandwagon. Some food brands used the song with their food and this helped in the promotion of the brand.

Another trend that is seen is that brands are using memes as a means to promote news. A trending meme template is picked up and the brands products are put into it. Netflix is known for promoting its films in this manner.

The catch here is that anything that is trending will catch the people’s eye. And for that brands have to be quick. A quick reaction results in greater brand promotion.
