In 2005, he gave $1 million to help the recreation of New Orleans after the disastrous Hurricane Katrina, and after Superstorm Sandy hit New Jersey, he donated another $1 million to the New Jersey Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund. He has a foundation in his name set up to help people suffering from poverty and homelessness. He has even opened another chapter of his charity foundation of Soul Kitchen and the donations from this endeavor, which were over $5 million, went towards building houses for homeless veterans. Not only that, he went on to give his proceeds from one of his songs to help train service dogs which are very important for disabled people.

Barbara Streisand in 2007 itself gave over $11 million through the Streisand Foundation to many foundations that advocated for climate change issues, ladies’ issues, social rights, and AIDS examination plus awareness. In 2012, she made another generous donation of $10 million for cardiovascular projects at Cedars-Sinai, which is currently called the Barbara Streisand Women’s Heart Centre.

The Hollywood couple Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith have always been generous and committed to helping support families and improving lives. Apart from Will and Jada Smith Family Foundation which emphasizes art, education training, social sustainability, and awareness, they have donated cash to various associations and schools in the places where they grew up (Philadelphia and Baltimore) for the less fortunate. While the couple does a lot of their magnanimous giving discreetly through their own foundation, they reportedly gave a huge donation to different foundations in 2008 and 2011.

Sandra Bullock has always been ready to help whenever the need arises and she did not let anyone down when she acted fast and gave $1 million to the American Red Cross after the 9/11 attack and another $1 million (each) for Hurricane Harvey and Katrina. When the 2010 earthquake hit Haiti, she contributed $1 million to Doctors Without Borders. She was also a principal donator to Japan’s 2011 earthquake and tsunami relief funds. She has made even more generous donations to the Red Cross and HSVC in California to assist firefighters in 2018.
