Color psychology is focused on the mental and emotional impact of color on people in all aspects of life. There are some very subjective color psychology elements, as well as some more agreed and established elements. Oddly, very little theoretical or empirical work has been done to date on the effect of color on psychological functioning, and the work that has been done has mainly been motivated by practical considerations, not scientific rigor.
Despite the general lack of research in this area, the definition of color psychology has become a hot topic in marketing, art, design, and other fields.
