What is a Marketing Calendar and is it useful

A marketing calendar is essentially a schedule for promotions. It’s an extremely useful device indicating what marketing events, agendas and missions are set and for when. Many organizations use this to outline and plan their Public Relations and publicizing strategy. This is often used in industries that need to plan well ahead of time for items to be  produced and launched at a certain time or season. Styles, flavors, scents, decor, etc., all are often made corresponding to seasons. According to the industry, suitable times are chosen and various major activities are planned around those times. One style or flavor that is trending in December will not be as impactful if launched in the month of May. This is why, major research and planning goes into finding a suitable timeline for everything to be prepared and launched. This timeline is recorded in the marketing calendar and referred to by the entire company to see if they are on the right track and measure their progress. An efficient calendar will not only show the date of the activity but also the dates for those specific tasks to be done in order to reach the set goal. 

For new organizations especially, the process of marketing can be inconsistent. You might realize the need to advertise your organization, and put your name out there for others to recognize however the organization can still be lacking in promotion due to many reasons like shortage of timing or even fund. Systematic planning will let the organization have a set budget and timing allotted for consistent promotion that increases the brand awareness.
