Why add inclusive designs in your ad campaigns

We are always told that we are different and have unique abilities in our school time. But when it comes to the real world, not everyone believes in this principle. We are judged based on the same starting point, making it quite difficult for those who come from unprivileged backgrounds. That’s why making your business more inclusive will make you stand out from others.

Inclusivity is more like a responsibility than a need. Globalization has allowed us to understand the different cultures of the world. We can now understand some people’s psychological behavior when put in certain situations. If you have to expand your business globally, you have to understand political sensitivity.

The goal of inclusive design is to provide the best user experience to the customers as per their preference. As per 2018 survey conducted by Facebook in 50 countries, it was found that 30% of users are reported to have issues with seeing, hearing, speaking, and other cognitive abilities.

Clarity in text

It would be best to make sure text in your ad campaigns is written in plain language without overuse of caps. It is best to use camel case for multiple hashtags used at the bottom. You should also limit the use of emoji and avoid special characters.

Descriptive caption

If you add image, gifs, and alt-text, it helps people visualize. Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter provide you with specific fields for adding pictures and gifs.

Video description

Adding audio and transcript in your live video will help those who have difficulty understanding accents or one with hearing disabilities.

Color contrast

You should avoid green, red, blue, and yellow text colors as they are hard to read. It would be best to write text on images with a solid background. You can use patterns to differentiate data on graphs and charts.

You should not rely so much on color to convey the meaning. One should always stay informed with accessible tools. The most important thing is to always take an inclusive approach with your customers.
