Why are home remedies looked down upon

Every time you have a cold, your mother brings you a home remedy and you are suddenly okay! This is the magic of home remedies. Whenever you use a home remedy, you discover something new. From beauty to medicine, we have a home remedy for everything. Different people have different home remedies for the same problem. While some suggest using turmeric on the face, others focus on the use of honey.

The common problem with our generation is that we tend to discredit these remedies. We feel that they are an old wife’s tale and don’t usually work. Home remedies are something we don’t trust easily and tend to ignore. If someone tells us to use these remedies, we often tend to say a straight no. But why is it so? Just because these remedies are ancient, we don’t trust them. Some medical professionals highly disregard these remedies and say that they do not work to our benefit.

But that’s not always true. These home remedies that we are talking of are “tried and tested.” Our ancestors have been extensively using them for years. To discredit home remedies in such a way is wrong. There are written pieces of evidence that show that home remedies can be effective and have cured various diseases. Home remedies have been a part of our culture for ages and people have been using them forever. Most of the home remedies come with medicinal purposes and have worked wonders for people in the past.

The problem now is that the products used in these home remedies have been tampered with. We do not find quality products like we used to get earlier. This is one of the biggest reasons that home remedies do not work in today’s day and age. Every product has been tampered with or modernized. This is one of the major reasons why home remedies fail.

Whatever the case, home remedies have worked wonders in the past and we need to preserve them at all costs.
