Schools are places where we imbibe education. They are known as out ‘second home’ and shape us as a person. We make our first friends in school and also gain knowledge about different values and culture.

As we all know uniforms are an integral part of our school culture. But there is an ongoing debate surrounded around uniforms and whether they are needed or not. Some people are of the opinion that uniforms are not needed. some feel it creates monotony and the others feel we should discard uniform culture and adopt the western way of thinking.

Uniforms are actually a great inclusion as school wear, here’s why:

It teaches students to take pride in their clothes

As we know, little children are very concerned about their clothes. They feel it defines them as a person. Uniforms teach students to take pride in their appearance and make them feel secure about their dressing.

Wearing uniforms negates peer pressure as all the children are dressed in same clothes. One doesn’t try to look better than the other. This reduces pressure on children to look good or match up to other’s levels.

They are affordable

As we all know, in schools, different children form different economic backgrounds come under one place. Uniforms being affordable can be bought by everybody and there is no pressure on the parents as well.

Eliminates individuality

Wearing uniforms creates an idea in the minds of people that they are all equal and there is no difference between them. The individual identity is not imbibed due to uniforms.

Uniform create discipline

As school going kids, discipline is the most important factor for children. When kids are told to wear uniforms, they have to wear it in a certain way, the tie has to be perfect, the clothes have to be well ironed and many such things. This teaches kids how be disciplined from a young age.
