Are streaming services going to overtake traditional movie going experiences?

People have slowly but steadily started including more modern ways into their lives without even noticing it. The housewives who used to have the TV on while cooking or resting now have switched to multitasking with their favourite shows at anytime with their phone screens. The youngsters who used to make a hangout of going to the Cinemas now make it into a more personalised event in their very own space with only their people with the OTT services available now.

Its been a slow process of reaching towards what’s more economical, accessible and personalised. In this day and age, communication by brands need to be personalised and while going for movies is fun and can be made into an event itself, it lacks the economic benefit and customisation that OTT services provide. More and more people are switching to newer methods as they have become more conscious of their buying habits too, being busy plays a big part too in this.

With the sudden suspension of normalcy in uncertain times brought about by a pandemic, people have had to cope and revise almost everything they did previously in their everyday lives. While just now, DVDs and Albums were coming back into practices and youngsters were starting to collect them to experience the more “authentic” feel, all of that has had to be put on hold. Its like everyday life has gone on an hiatus. However, this is the new normalcy where we have to reinstitute ourselves into the world and cope. We have had to and will continue to have to adapt to the rapid changes that the world and we have faced in such a short amount of time. Here, definitely the traditional approaches to enjoy movies has taken a backseat and is going to be very slow in getting back to it’s glorious form that was already degenerating before this change.
