We are lucky enough to be living in a day and age wherein advertising has become so much simpler, from the consumer’s point of view. We, as consumers have the luxury to choose from so many different products from different brands, and we are free to try them all. The question stays, which platform do the consumers find the best? We often discuss which platform is the best for the brands, to advertise their product, but what about the consumers? To start off, there is no better medium than Television, as even though traditional, it is the best platform through which the consumers can get familiar with the brands. Pretty much every brand, new or old, prefers to advertise their products through the means of the television, as it does have the maximum reach. We watch television daily, and we come across so many advertisements. There are so many products we use daily now, that we got introduced to, all thanks to the television. It is such a go-to platform for all consumers to find the best products and brands and also discover some new ones.

Now that technology is growing at such a fast pace, digital media is proving to be one of the most influential platforms that we have. Social media especially is proving to be one of the fastest-growing advertising platforms. Because social media picks up AdWords, it becomes much easier for them to advertise the products that we might like. For example, Instagram picks up the information from the pages we follow and the posts we like and suggests products in that genre. This will obviously make it so much easier for the consumers to pick up products that we are already interested in. Social media is a very strong platform, as well as a very convenient one too.

Consumers will be able to find the right balance between the traditional media platforms as well as the digital ones, as brands cater to both of them equally. Even though digital media is surely growing, but traditional media continues to maintain its place on the top. The brands cater to both mediums to reach their target audience, which is why the consumers must check both mediums out. The consumer must also understand which platform they find the most beneficial, as it all depends on the audience the brand is catering to.
