We see so many advertisements daily, ranging from fast food joints to daily essentials to websites, etc. But if you ever notice carefully, you will understand that the way these products are advertised is different from one another. Every advertisement is made taking the product and its features in mind. Every advertisement has different requirements and different approaches, which is why making them feel personal and real is very important. 

Perfume, as a product is very personal and also very subjective. Everyone has different preferences and tastes when it comes to fragrances which are why perfume advertisements are quite tricky to make and also handled differently than others. 

Perfume advertisements are generally very stylish and aesthetic to look at. The product is considered luxurious which is why the advertisements too are pleasing to the eye and almost romantically handled.

There is also a difference in the way men’s fragrances and women’s fragrances are handled. The target audience for both is different which is why the approach is also different. If you notice, women’s perfumes are more floral and feminine, and similar are their advertisements. It’s romantic, it’s subtle and it’s stunning to look at. It is always dreamy, pretty, and very tastefully handled. Let’s take an example here. Lancome Idole featured Zendaya as the lead, and the campaign was free-flowing with beautiful cinematography and location. This is because women easily get attracted to such things and there is a higher chance for them to purchase the product.

The way perfumes are advertised to men is different. The approach is generally quite bold and sexual, even manly sometimes. It is generally darker and grittier. Wild Stone is a perfect example here. They show a man wearing the perfume and attracting a lot of female attention. This is how the approach towards men’s perfume generally is.

Every advertisement is different and handled in a different way by the advertiser. Since fragrance is so subjective and also gives a long-lasting impression, people choose to smell nice. If the advertisement successfully conveys the fragrances through a television screen, then there is nothing like it, which is why a lot of attention and details regarding the storyline and tastes are taken into consideration.
