How often should the curriculum for schools be updated

School curriculum refers to the lessons taught in school and the syllabus that is followed to teach and educate children appropriately as per their age. The set of the curriculum is then well translated into a course and exams are conducted on the same. As the batches of children change, the curriculum needs to be updated to the newer standards of learning, better technology, and the other requirements of education need to be met. The question arises, how often should the curriculum be updated?

Technically the curriculum should be updated every year as every passing year we see change and innovative things being developed in the sector of education and this needs to be incorporated into the learning system. But it is not practically possible to get all the academicians to sit together and form a new one every consecutive year. It would just cause chaos and use a lot of time and manpower to do so. Instead, a more practical method would be to revising it frequently enough to add in or deduct the relevant things as per convenience.

Every country or state has its own way to deal with education and to prioritize accordingly and while some of the nations have it at a high priority some neglect it thoroughly causing ignorance in the field and loss of students to understand and learn new things. As per the needs of learning, importance should be given to updating the curriculum. There should not be a fixed interval of doing so, but leaders and academicians being in connection with children and the conditions of the state can decide it on themselves.
