How the poor rich divide has become clearer with this pandemic

2020 has been a devastating year in many ways. The world has been fighting constantly against natural disasters, the pandemic and there has been a massive loss of life, property, and many other things. The pandemic has also brought with itself many other things like loss of jobs, a falling economy, and rising mental illnesses.

People are stressed and this has affected the world on a large scale. There is a daily struggle for living and carrying out day-to-day activities. But the one major thing that has become evident in this pandemic is the poor-rich divide. The income inequality in the world was already evident for ages, but it has become even more prominent in this pandemic.

We saw how people struggled during these trying times. But one evident fact was that the rich got it easy and the poor had it difficult always. Every facility and amenity came easily to the rich, while the poor lost jobs, lives, and had to struggle for making ends meet. While the world was under severe lockdown and there was a scarcity of essentials, the rich had easy access, but the poor found it difficult to even get milk! The rich even managed to make more money than ever before. This divide has made the lives of poor people miserable. The poor have unbearably suffered. The prices of products increased vehemently and the poor are unable to afford it without any jobs. But this was a cakewalk for the rich. As the poor lost houses, the rich were building new ones. This showed how there has always been a clear difference between the rich and the poor.

This pandemic has brought people to a realization that the rich will always get richer and the poor, poorer.
