Less is More; brands with minimalist marketing and advertising

Statistics say that we are exposed to at least 3000 ads daily. But do we remember them all? Certainly not! An advertisement has to be catchy and refreshing to stay in the minds of people. This has been aptly adopted by some advertisers with a new form of advertising called minimalist advertising.

Minimalism is a term adopted by society that simply means keeping things straight to the point. Using fewer motifs and text in a design or ad is a form of a minimalistic approach. Using this in advertising has helped some brands to create a greater impact on the minds of people.

Using minimalism in designs has also proven to be highly effective for brands. This is because in minimalist ads the message is right there and straight to the point. There are fewer objects so people are not distracted and these types of brands have a higher recall value.

Here are some brands who nailed the minimalist way of advertising:

Faber Castell- True colors:

Faber Castell really upped their game with this print ad. The ad showed a bright yellow banana merging into a same-colored pencil. This simply delivered the message that Faber Castell’s color pencils are true to real-life things. This ad without any text proved to create an impact in the minds of people.

FedEx- neighbor:

FedEx with its minimalistic ad delivered a hard-hitting message. This ad shows a huge wall with a map-like design in the background and two windows. A lady is giving out a parcel to another lady from one window to another. This ad has a simplistic message that FedEx can deliver anywhere in the world.

Amul:

This FMCG giant has been producing minimalistic ads for a long time now. They use current and trending topics in their ads and give it their “Amul” touch with their signature little lady. For instance, when 2020 started, they came out with an ad captioned “tu bees badi hai mast mast”. Amul’s ads have been creating impact time and again.

Minimalism has worked wonders for these brands.
