• The headbutt of Zinedine Zidane

Soccer or football is such a game that makes millions and millions of people passionate. The rivalry and hatred among fans have always been a hot topic to discuss. During the world cup finals, the acclaimed player, Zinedine Zidane, who had earned respect from rivals and compatriots, gave in to the anger and headbutted the opponent, Marco Materazzi. The former refused to apologize, claiming that Marco had insulted his mother and sister. But this incident became a blotch in Zidane’s bright career. 

• Luis Suarez’s racism

One may think racism doesn’t exist in a game like a soccer. In 2011, the top player Suarez was found guilty of throwing racial slurs at Patrice Evra ten times. This incident still makes many fan’s heads hang in shame. 

• Pepe’s stamping

The champions league final was quite heated, and one of the dirtiest instances of Pepe purposely stamping Lionel Messi’s hand after a foul. Pepe had later apologized, stating it was unintentional, but you will find it otherwise if you watch the video.
