Is having tunnel vision while doing a task always a

Do you occasionally find yourself so engrossed in a project that you feel fatigued and disinterested from all the other things? This tendency is called tunnel vision. Tunnel vision refers to an established or informed decision to only focus one’s sole attention on accomplishing a specific objective without contemplating about anything or anyone else.

Having a vision is great! It stimulates you to respect your goals, work towards them, and take chances to achieve significant results. But sometimes, our vision subconsciously turns into tunnel vision. It gets difficult for us to see anything that contradicts our intention and passion. We tend to have a selective perception that limits our talent and the potential to see things otherwise.

Staying focused on the job that you do makes you an achiever and keeps you in a flow. It helps to produce quality results in no time and makes you reliable at your workplace. In most cases, that is incredible! But if that’s the way you choose to work every time, it can limit your capabilities.

Taking a break from work is essential to be more productive. As productivity is an integral part of delivering results, you need something different to do to refresh your mind and energy. Take a meaningful break in between your tasks – Get up, walk around, or close your eyes to imagine yourself in your happy place. It’s important to have other things going on in your life other than work. When you’re solely concerned about your work, it becomes extremely tough for you to face setbacks and failures. Try to carve out time for other important things in your life like family, friends, and physical exercises.

Try to figure out creative ideas to complete your task. It will help you come up with different approaches to finish a task and stay ahead of your competitors. Being solely focused on a task restricts your ability to learn new strategies, and think openly. At some point, everyone feels that their job has become boring. Apart from finding creative techniques to do a task, you can always start with having a variety of concerns, experiences and learn from the things from which others get their notions and motivation.

Choose to enjoy life to the fullest. Don’t get stuck on a single task. Instead, make the receptive choice filled with novelty, interests, chances, and happiness.
