Pandemic Grew YouTube Subscribers

The COVID-19 situation was abrupt for everyone, and it bought many losses along with it. The pandemic was like a nightmare to the whole world. But as it is said, every coin has two sides; the pandemic ruined the economy but lightened up the YouTube community. YouTube saw a rise of 20.5 percent of subscribers in India.

Many YouTubers made content on the pandemic, lockdown, isolation, and many more. The audience could relate to it and loved it. 98% of videos were covid-19 related videos on YouTube.

Due to covid-19, many brands engaged their business with masks and sanitizers. These brands needed to be in the public eye, and hence they collaborated with many YouTubers for better engagement. YouTubers promote brands, and brands pay to the YouTubers. Call it even! YouTube kept entertaining people with its amazing content. Gen Z is connected to their phones so much. The lockdown boredom made their parents and grandparents also attached to their phones. YouTube here did a great job of keeping people engaged while they were locked and isolated.

People didn’t use YouTube as the source of entertainment only in pandemic but also as a source of education. When the days kept increasing, schools couldn’t ignore education for long. Considering the situation, worldwide schools started online. Many teachers created their YouTube channel and reached out to their students.

Just when we think YouTube couldn’t be more helpful, it was. Many journalists started spreading news through their YouTube channel. Though people were locked in, they needed to know what is going on. Also, YouTube featured a new element called YouTube Memberships, where existing YouTube channels can give a paid contribution explicitly for individuals. This permits the creators to create the courses that they can offer to their viewers through YouTube.

Pandemic had a different impact on different things. Thankfully it had a positive impact on YouTube and YouTubers.
