Safe things to do when you’re sick and quarantined

In these times of uncertainties and unknown occurrences, it has become really difficult for us to keep ourselves calm and composed. There’s a bombardment of news, social media posts, and messages that are all about the coronavirus. You must keep yourself informed and updated but you should not compromise your mental health in the process.

We have compiled a list of things you can do to get rid of the boredom and keep yourself entertained while in isolation.

  • Meditate! Meditation can help you to handle stress, anxiety and depression. It helps to uplift our mood and get sound sleep. There are several meditation apps like Headspace and Calm available for you to download to take care of your mental health.
  • Talk to a friend over the phone, text, or on a video call. It will make you feel connected with your loved ones while enjoying a light-hearted conversation.
  • Watch movies and shows that make you happy.
  • Read things that you’ve been avoiding due to time constraints and hectic schedules. Read that book you’ve had on your bookshelf since 2006! Now is the perfect time to indulge in a good book and enjoy reading it. You can also listen to audiobooks if you don’t feel like straining your eyes.
  • Start writing a diary or maintain a journal. You can write about your feelings, thoughts, and emotions. You can also write about the things that are important to you in your life. Putting your thoughts on paper can help you process and release your feelings. You can write on your worries and observations, but you’ll also write down the items you’re grateful for at the instant.
  • Gaming is a great way of having fun and distracting yourself for some time. Play online games with your friends and have lots of fun.
  • Listen to the radio or podcasts. Enjoy songs and music.
  • Have fun with arts and crafts. You can pursue your hobbies such as calligraphy, origami, painting, and indoor gardening.

Getting involved in these fun activities will help you kill boredom and get you through these times of difficulties. Indulge in your favorite hobby and have lots of fun!
