Trends you should leave behind with 2020

2020 was a horrible year in many ways. We had to face a pandemic along with other unforeseen incidents. It was a year where everyone’s morale was down and nothing could cheer them up. It was a very challenging year and we had to change lots of things, from our lifestyle to our food. But the one thing that remained constant was fashion. Even though people couldn’t step out of their houses, they were dressing up and having fun. After the world started opening up and people started stepping out of their houses, there was a boom in the fashion industry again. People wore ever-so-trendy clothes and decked themselves up with over-the-top accessories and jewelry.

But some trends were hideous and overdone. People followed these trends blindly, thanks to influencers and content creators. I firmly believe that these trends should be left behind in 2020.

CLEAR HEELS AND BAGS:

In early 2020, the trend of wearing clear PVC heels and using clear handbags was all the rage. This trend was inspired by the early 2000s and people went overboard with it. Wearing clear stuff personally seems very impractical to me. Like, what is the use of carrying a handbag that will show all your stuff to the entire world. As for heels, these clear heels make feet look like they are trapped in a plastic case. This trend should definitely go with the coming year.

BIKER SHORTS AS CASUAL WEAR:

Who passed biker shorts as casual wear in the first place? 2020 saw models, celebrities, and influencers wearing biker shorts out and about in public. These skin-fit shorts were worn with loose and baggy sweatshirts or casual tees. While people enjoyed this trend, in my opinion, it looked weird and should not be continued in the new year.

NEON OVERDOSE:

A 2010s trend that made a comeback in 2020 was neon. Neon was extensively used in clothing, bags, shoes, and jewelry. People went gaga over this style all over again in 2020. Oversized neon t-shirts paired with the colored coordinated pants was a trend that should go. People look like a walking disco ball when they wear neon.

TINY SUNGLASSES:

What is even the point of this trend? These tiny sunglasses could fit into a baby’s palm and are highly impractical. People used them just for the sake of fashion and it didn’t serve any other purpose. They will definitely not protect you from the sun. These sunglasses have a tiny mainframe that does nothing but block your vision. Hope this trend will go away with the past year.

MASKS:

Last but not the least, the “trend” of wearing masks should go. We’ve had enough of this pandemic and people are tired of wearing masks. Hope the pandemic ends soon and we don’t have to see masks again.
