Unnecessary Exposure To Kids Through Movies.

Movies are something that everyone loves, be it a kid, an adult, or even an elderly. It is an escape from reality and our lifestyle. It helps us live a completely different life for those 2 hours, and we are completely engrossed in it. We all have been watching movies since we were little. Be it the iconic “Home Alone” or “Baby’s Day Out”. We get it, some kid-friendly movies may be unbearable to watch as adults, but some of these movies may even seem to make us realize hidden meanings that we didn’t catch when we were young. There are a few kids’ films that did have some adult jokes that make us question how were they even allowed to be a part of the film. Let’s have a look at some of those.

Aladdin and the king of thieves: Aladdin is probably a film and character that we all have watched and loved. It always seemed kid-friendly and appropriate to be viewed by children. But this movie specifically may have been a little out of control. There is a dialogue in the film after Aladdin gets Jasmine where Genie just randomly says “I thought the earth wasn’t supposed to move until the honeymoon”. This dialogue may have been unnoticed as children, but as adults, we doubt how the editors were allowed to keep it.

Ratatouille: We all fell in love with this film and the adorable rat, so much so that a lot of people wanted to get a rat as a pet. This film seemed all innocent and kid-friendly when we were little but as adults, not so much. There is a scene in the film where the lead character tells his chef about a secret that he has. The dialogue goes “tiny little…” and the chef looks down. This might not be something that we would want the little ones to notice. It is a little too forward, which is not appreciated in a kid’s film.

The Road to El Dorado: There is nothing wrong with showing a little romance in the kid’s films as it just adds charm to the film. But one should know the limits, as it is a children’s film at the end of the day. The Road to El Dorado is one film that pushed the boundaries a little bit. This film consists of a scene where Tulio, the lead guy falls in love with Chel, but it doesn’t take much time for the romance to go explicit. They are shown doing something a little more than kissing, which is not appropriate to put in a kid’s film. It is something that the kids shouldn’t be familiar with at such a young age.
