Ways Of Effective Marketing Planning For Different Countries

We have all heard this famous phrase ‘Think globally, act locally’ and many businesses are planning their marketing strategies based on this idea. Global marketing strategies, however, require a proper plan, time, investment, resources, and manpower to understand different markets, countries, cultures, local traditions, manners, and etiquette.

Many brands have planned successful marketing strategies globally, such as McDonald’s, Coca Cola, KFC, Nike, and others. Both global and local marketing strategies follow the same tactic of four P’s- Product, Price, Place, and Promotion.

  1. There is nothing universal about this when it comes to customer habits, desires, and interests. Especially for the food industry, they need to add some local flavors for the success of the brand. For instance, McDonald’s added Aloo Tikki burgers to their menu to capture the market in India. Similarly, Dominos used sea-food topping to grab the Asian market. Thus, adding the local elements can be a beneficial strategy.
  2. You need to understand the country’s culture as well. Like several words can have meanings that vary from country to country.
  3. Plan a worldwide campaign. To attract particular audiences, you can schedule a product launch and marketing campaigns.
  4. Use social media to create brand awareness. Social media has the power to reach larger audiences, thus using an appropriate social media platform is important.
  5. The strongest ways to endorse brands are through sports and entertainment events. Samsung, Sony, Lenovo, Coco-Cola, Pepsi, and other transnational corporations have used it to increase their brand recognition. In particular, by sponsoring numerous brands, Red Bull has expanded its brand image immensely.

Each company has tailored its strategies to fit in the local market. They try to mix with the media and customers to have a positive brand image. Just focus on local cultures, attitudes, traditions, and languages to plan a successful marketing campaign.
