Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, the whole world came down to its knees. In such times, Bollywood celebrities made a considerable amount of contributions to help those in need. Here’s a list of celebrities who played the roles of real-life heroes seeking to bring much-needed relief to those struggling to cope with the crisis:

Sonu Sood

Sonu Sood made headlines for sending migrant workers back to their homes. At first, he arranged 10 buses with 350 migrants from Maharashtra to Karnataka while taking the proper precautionary measures of covid-19. Since then, he hasn’t looked back. He initiated a helpline number for migrants living in Mumbai who wanted to go back to their native place. Moreover, the actor also opened up his Juhu hotel for healthcare workers and delivered meals to the poor and needy people in Mumbai.

Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan made huge donations as well. Through his Instagram handle, the actor declared that all his business centers including Kolkata Knight Riders, Red Chilli Entertainments, Meer Foundation, and Red chilies VFX will help the government during these trying times. Shahrukh Khan and Gauri Khan also pledged to protect healthcare workers by providing them PPE kits, support daily wage workers, acid attack survivors, and underprivileged people.

Akshay Kumar

Akshay Kumar has been quite vocal about spreading awareness and asking people to follow the lockdown rules and precautionary measures to stop the spread of covid-19. Apart from this, Akshay Kumar has extended assistance to numerous charities. He made donations of  Rs. 25 Crore to PM cares fund, 2 crore Mumbai police foundation, 3 crores to BMC, and 45 lakh to cine and TV artist association. He also participated in Bollywood’s largest fundraiser concert to raise money for those affected by the pandemic.

Other than these three, Shabana Azmi, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Farhan Akhtar, Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Swara Bhaskar, Alia Bhatt, Virat Kohli, and Anushka Sharma are some of the generous celebrities who discussed everything from fear and anxiety among people to the increased rate of unemployment because of the pandemic.
